CARH’S BROADCAST E-MAIL – Legislative Update

Late yesterday, President Obama threatened to veto an emerging deal that would restore several lapsed tax extenders, including the 9 percent and 4 percent fixed rate for Housing Credit program. Under the terms of the deal, most of the provisions that expired at the end of last year, including the Housing Credit fixed rates, would have been extended through 2015, as they were in a bipartisan package that passed the Senate Finance Committee earlier this year.

According to aides on Capitol Hill only time will tell if the tax extenders will be revived. Congress has been in recess this week and will return shortly after the Thanksgiving Day holiday. There is still time for an agreement to be reached before Congress leaves for the year.
